Song of the day "I'm Beaming" by Lupe Fiasco

I am really excited about Lupe's new album. He is one of my top five MC's and I always look forward to him coming out with new music. The official release date for his album Lasers is suppose to dope this week. I can't wait to get this music in my hands. This is the official video for his single I'm beaming with dropped a couple of months ago. At first I didn't know how I felt about this song but it grew on me with in a couple of listens and I love it. The chorus and everything is sick to me.

Today, nobody cares
But tomorrow they will, they will
Today, nobody cares
But, oh, tomorrow they will, they will

They said my future was dark
You see me now?
Just look around
I’m beamin’

I get my energy from my inner G
I be in outer space, but I got inner peace
So tell my enemies that they can’t injure me
I know that irritates, you have my sympathies
Well, you should protest, yeah, you should picket me
I’m on a losing strike, I’m on a winning streak
I’m out in left field, I’m speaking mentally
But that’s a better places than where the benches be
I’m feelin’ really good, me and different beat
Me and my different drummer, he play the timpanis
See, that’s what got me here, you hearin’ me

They used to talk
When I wasn’t around
You see me now
I’m beamin’

Insane

I'll tell you right now this is why the Hawks lost last night....when the damn mascot for the Bucks is doing back flip dunks off a ladder 10 feet above the goal then its lights out. Fuck the Bucks! LETS GO HAWKS!

Nas & Damian Marley "As We Enter" Official Video

Its official check it out...

Nike Air Max 1 White/Grey/Orange

The Air Maxim 1 has become my favorite nike silhouette, passing the dunk. This new colorway for the summer also has some new materials and shoe technologies as well. The lightweight, breathable torch material is used on the collar and toe, while flywire is used in the midfoot. I personally like when the shoes aren't too bright but I like the little touch of orange for the top eye holes. All around this is a dope shoe and colorway...I want them bad!

Lupe Fiasco featuring Alicia Keys – Love Letter To The Beat

With his forthcoming Lasers album, Lupe Fiasco unleashes “Love Letter To The Beat”, featuring famed songstress Alicia Keys. The original version of the cut was recorded by Chad Hugo for Ms. Keys’ 2007 album As I Am. However, it did not make the final cut. The song has since been forwarded to the Chicago MC, who created a decent version of it. No word on if this track will appear on Lupe’s new album, but be on the lookout for a Lasers release date to be announced this week. I am so ready for some new good music!

Gap Fall 2010 Collection

Here is a quick look at the Gap Fall 2010 Collection...I personally like the Gap a lot and think that always have fresh items each season. I especially like the tan duffle coat in the first picture, the sweater in the second and the gray jacket in the last. All around classic American looks.

Lizzy Caplan

To say the least Lizzy Caplan is my new celebrity obsession! You might remember her as the lebanese maybe lesbian from mean girls...or my personal favorite the sexy hippie love interest of Jason Stackhouse in HBO's Trueblood. Recently I came across the new Starz television show Party Down, from producer Paul Rudd. The show follows a group of wannabe actors and writers who all work a day job for a catering company. Its really funny and stars a lot of the comedians that have been in recent movies like Role Models and Wet Hot American Summer. But anyways back to Lizzy Caplan what can I say I love those dark wavy haired Jewish females with light eyes.

Help you got to help me right now!

We all need a little help in life...sometimes just more then others.

Turner Broadcasting

I just had a phone interview with Turner Broadcasting! I didn't feel as confident with my interview but she said she liked what I had to offer and was going to pass my stuff on for the next round of interviews with either the classic movie Podcast or Sports production. I know that everyone here at UGA would be so happy to have this opportunity and trust me I am. But I still don't know. I mean come on Turner is HUGE in entertainment and in the industry. To have the name on my resume would be unbelievable you know. It would be a much cheaper situation, I would get to stay in ATL for the summer and see all my friends and family, If I got the sports one I would be working at Braves games maybe...but still a big part of me wants to get out of ATL go see the world for the summer be in one of the major industry cities you know. I feel like I shouldn't have taken the interview it is only making me more confused and stressed. These are things that I shouldn't be stressing about because they are all positive you know. I guess no matter what I will be doing something good for me. Because I haven't really done much of anything in my life for getting a job and these companies want me so I can only imagine if I put one more thing on my resume ya dig!

Mos Dub Mixtape

This is a perfect mix for me Mos De and Reggae. If you like either or both you can listen to the entire album or download it HERE. The best tracks in my opinion are History Town, Johnny Too Beef, and Ms. Vampire Booty.

Pursuit of Happiness

I always respected Will Smith and thought that he was a talented person with a good heart. But damn dude has some serious words of wisdom, he is also very intelligent. I have been having so much self doubt and thinking about life and my future and if I am good enough, and all of those things that would go along with a quarter life crisis. In this video Will Smith really makes some great points about life and how to be successful.

All in all I know I need to get on my grind and start to hustle more. No more sleeping all day or being lazy. For the most part I think I have a good work ethic I go to class everyday I go to the gym three days a week, but I guess when it comes to making my career goals a reality I don't do much. This summer is going to be an eye opening experience. I plan on taking in as much knowledge as I can and trying to be the best person that I can be. I know that a lot of people out there have love and support for me and it feels good to know that, its just hard when the one person whos love and support you care about the most just walks away. But hey if you believe in yourself then others will believe, because people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. So I am just going to keep on being ME....OneLove

New York or Cali

I just had a skype interview with a production company in NYC for a summer internship. I think that it went well or i'd just like to be confident and say that.

I have been really confused the past couple of days about what to do if I get this internship. I have already been offered one in Cali for the summer that would be great, don't get me wrong I am sure LA is amazing especially Venice Beach, but NYC has been my dream since I was a little kid. I love everything about NY my family is close...I have friends that'll be there and its the capital of the world come on. I guess my big issue with it is that I don't know if right now, this summer, would be the best time for me to be there. All in all there are so many reasons to choose NY and one big reason to go as far from it as possible. I guess either way my decision will turn into an amazing adventure. I kind of just want to flip a coin ya know. Leave it all up to fate. But lord knows where things like that have gotten me in the past...

John Mayer’s Battle Studies Winter Tour Shot by 13th Witness

Here is a video montage of John Mayer put together by the man himself, 13th Witness. The coverage goes over John Mayer’s recent Battle Studies tour that took place from January-April. There is some really great moments during the tour in the footage. Plus I have never heard this song and it is powerful just some good ol John Mayer...

Young and full of running
Tell me where has that taken me?
Just a great figure eight or a tiny infinity?

Love is really nothing
But a dream that keeps waking me,
For all of my trying
We still end up dying, how can it be?

Don't say a word just come over and lie here with me,
'Cause I'm just about to set fire to everything I see,
I want you so bad, I'll go back on the things I believed,
There I just said it, I'm scared you'll forget about me.

So young and full of running, all the way to the edge of desire
Steady my breathing, silently screaming,
"I have to have you now"
Wired and I'm tired
Think I'll sleep in my clothes on the floor
Maybe this mattress will spin on its axis and find me on yours

Don't say a word just come over and lie here with me
'Cause I'm just about to set fire to everything I see
I want you so bad I'll go back on the things I believe
There I just said it, I'm scared you'll forget about me

Nike & HIFANA – Nike Music Shoe

Some where in a top secret location in Tokyo, break beat music duo, HIFANA (composed of KEIZOmachine and JUICY) discovered that Nike Free Run+ running shoes can drop beats like realtime samplers and no other. HIFANA eschewed a part of their regular break beat set up and hooked up the mixers and sound systems to Nike Free Run+ shoes. When bent or twisted, the ultra-flexible Nike Free Run+ drops different tunes and sounds. Furthering proving that ever pair of shoes is different and there is a pair for everyone, and that the great performance Nike Free Run+ is flexible enough to fit any feet and running style or activity, the Nike Music Shoe video is not just about shoes as instruments. Check out the hopping performance from HIFANA which is signature of their creative and original live performances, and see how Nike shoes can sing different tunes. Just take note, the actual Nike Free Run+ sold in stores is absolutely and exclusively a running shoe, and will not sing when bent or twisted, so don’t rush to throw out your mixers just yet.

"I Never disrespect no women cause I love my momma"

Me and my Mom don't always see things eye to eye. Sometimes I don't know if the things I do make her happy or if she just doesn't know how to express it, but today when I was feeling really stressed and confused about life she hit me with a text in class that almost made me shed a tear no lie. Its this type of stuff that keeps me going...

"Decisions are hard in life. I will support you in any way you decide. You are special and will become more special. I believe in you my son."

Song of the day "Over" by Drake

I am not the biggest Drake fan but I'll tell you right now he is def the new anthem artist. From "Best I Ever Had" to "Forever" and now "Over". He def gets me amped up and probably everyone else too. I can tell you the chorus of this song is my new anthem for sure on repeat. The video uses some cool effects too. I like the second verse starts off with the great Marley line and then goes into Dead Prez "Hip-Hop" flow its very nice....

What am I doin’? What am I doin’?
Oh, yeah, that’s right, I’m doin’ me
I’m doin me
I’m livin’ life right now, mayne

And this what I’ma do ’til it’s over
‘Til it’s over
But it’s far from over…..

One thing ’bout music, when it hits you feel no pain
And I swear I got that shit that make these bitches go insane
So they tell me that they love me, I know better than that, it’s just game
It’s just what comes with the fame, and I’m ready for that, I’m just sayin’
But I really can’t complain, everything is kosher
Two thumbs up, Ebert and Roeper
I really can’t see the end getting any closer
But I prolly still be the man when everything is over
So I’m riding through the city with my high beams on
Can you see me? Can you see me? Get your Visine on
Y’all just do not fit the picture, turn your widescreen on
If you thinkin’ I’ma quit before I die, dream on
Man, they treat me like a legend, am I really this cold?
I’m really too young to be feelin’ this old

LRG Summer Collection

Life is an endless exploration! And like those Choose Your Own Adventure novelettes, a familiar staple back in junior high school, California-base Lifted Research Group (widely known as LRG) just ushered an expansive spectrum of selections in its Summer 2010 Collection. Divided between 10 design themes spread across 3 periodic releases, the apparel label addressed the wants of the consuming populace. I want the fedora its just the style i've been looking for!

Its nautical theme Destination Nowhere harks back to yesteryear of yacht racing and rowing clubs along the New England shores. Moving inland, Homegrown explores personal gardening and horticulture, whether it be illicit or not. Still, never divert from its root as an urban trend brand, Artist Driven highlights the collaboration of graffiti artists – Augor of Los Angeles area and Pose from the Windy City of Chicago. Finally, Summer is not really “Summer” without a brief getaway, Uptown Top Rankin introduce the Irie lifestyle of Jamaica. The LRG Summer 2010 Collection – First Delivery, in its 4 variants, are all now in LRG retailers worldwide. Check out the rest of the line and video HERE.

Doing Work

Today I went home and helped my dad re-side the shed. We put the radio on the oldies station that was playing 60's classic all day and just went at it. It was nice to be out in nature doing a little man's work you know with tools and such. Beside the fact that everything was covered in pollen it was really fun. My dad then grilled some of his famous burgers and they were delicious! It was good to be home.

IM GOING GOING BACK BACK TO CALI CALI!

I GOT OFFERED AN INTERNSHIP AT WILD PLUM PRODUCTIONS IN CALI FOR THE SUMMER! I AM EXCITED BEYOND WORDS...................

NIke Golf "Earl & Tiger"

Prior to Tiger Woods’ return to golf, Nike had sampled the voice of Tiger’s late father, Earl Woods, to produce this commercial in which Earl asks his son a few questions about the recent events from beyond the grave. This very personal, almost surreal black and white advert sees the camera slowly zoom in to a silent Tiger Woods, who stares back, with a somber, apologetic look in his eyes. Its pretty crazy ...

Thoughts of the Day: April 7th 2010 BALLIN!

I had a great day. Me and my homegirl Libby balled out hard today! I had the day off...no class so you know it had to be great! Started off by grabbing some food at The Grit, I haven't ate there in months its so damn dank! Then we hit the thrift stores for a little thriftin' and I found some gems including Two button ups and Stevie Wonder's "Songs in The Key Of Life" record(I love Stevie and it is one of his best records). As for the button ups..one is a short sleeve RALPH LAUREN, and the other is a long sleeve club room. Now I don't care much about labels if its fly then its fly it could be from Wal-Mart or Polo. I just know that a $4 RALPH LAUREN is a fucking deal and quality goods. I also copped a badass dark indigo chambray shirt...oh here is the definition for Chambray because I have had some confusion and questions about it... A fine lightweight fabric woven with white threads across a colored warp. Alteration of French cambrai, cambric, after Cambrai, a city of northern France. I got the shirt at Wal-mart today for $5, I had my eye on it a month or so ago when I went to wal-mart and it was $10! Anyways I also finally got to try Yoguri for the first time and it was dank. And I closed the night by seeing Hot Tub Time Machine which was hilarious! All in all I must say what a ballin day!
