This is CRAZY!
I came across this on another blog. Its pretty crazy if you think about it, and not just the fact about african american music but music as a whole. Jazz is such an amazing form of music and some things these days are just not. I believe that there is a good bit of hip-hop that is viable art. But at the same time there is a whole lot that is not. I am a fan of both of these artiest i'd probably say more so of John Coltrane than Lil Wayne (that rhymes) either way Lil Wayne has some much better and viable music than "A Milli".

Matt Damon's New Films
Both of these movies look amazing Matt Damon is one of my favorite actors if you saw him on entourage he was hilarious. I hope they do more with him next season! Damon can play both serious drama and badass action hero and we get both in these new movies!
The first movie is Invictus from director Clint Eastwood, “Invictus” tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa’s underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match. It looks straight Oscar worthy!
The second is Green Zone which is about a pair of CIA agents (Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear) on the trail of Weapons of Mass Destruction and a foreign correspondent following their mission. It is loosely based on the non-fiction novel "Imperial Life in the Emerald City" by Rajiv Chandrasekaran. Damon looks like a straight Jason Bourne G! Good thing the movie is directed by the guy who did both Bourne sequels!
Nike SB Zoom Air Harbor “Raiders” Colorway
The Nike SB Zoom Air Harbor has not been getting that much attention due to other SB silhouettes such as the Zoom Stefan Janoskis, but I must say that these are a fly silhouette themselves. I owe a pair of the the FISH coloway that dropped last May. They look good with shorts or jeans and they offer a great relaxed everyday shoe. This colorway is predominantly suede black and “Raiders Grey” upper. White accents on the shoe laces, Nike swoosh, and sole. I know they'd look great with my new grey chamois flannel shirt=Fresh to death...

He Got Game
Last night I watched He Got Game for the I don't know how many times. It is such a good movie. It makes me want to be good at basketball sooo bad! If you haven't seen it then I suggest that you check it out right away. In my opinion Spike Lee is one of the best directors of our time. He truly is a storyteller...he frames shots and transitions so well. His mixing of shots from different times in a characters life is great especially in this movie. Denzel kills this movie I think he should've won or at least been nominated for an oscar on this one. You can feel his emotions and drive to not only get his son to attend big state but to get his family especially his son to understand why he raised him the way he did and pushed him. I think that Ray Allen does a damn good job acting in this movie for a NBA athlete.
Final 1 on 1 game...

Stylophone Beatbox
I try to beatbox and like to think that I am not too shabby at it. But I might not even need to anymore with this little badboy ill be beatboxing like a champ in no time. The Stylophone Beathbox is well worth the price at just $25. It features 13 metal pads that will generate sounds of MC Zani when tapped with a stylus it also has a loop mode which enables one to build and layer different sounds ranging from percussion to human beatbox and bass samples. These guys look like they've had it for awhile and enjoy it.
Nike Air Max 90 Hamburger
Nike Sportswear has commissioned eight artists, designers, and others to make a piece of Nike Sportswear art to showcase at the 1912 Space show. Olle Hemmendorff constructed this Nike Air Max 90 Hamburger. The upper consists of sesame seed bun, with a cheese covering outlining the swoosh. The laces are also cheesed out with tomatoes as the lace panels. The midsole is where the meat is at, with a tomato as the Air Max logo. Ketchup outlines the Air Max unit in the midsole, and the bottom of the bun serves as the outsole. This is a great piece of art for NSW in my opinion. I don't know how long it can stay fresh like NSW.

Hip-Hop Sampling
I am a huge fan of sampling in my hip-hop. This is because I am a huge fan of music. It interests me to hear older songs that might be considered classics and how they use them to make a new beat and sound. Kanye is great at using old soul samples to make beats and Lupe and Soundtrakk have a great eye for composing beats.

Glow In The Dark Tour Coffee Table Book
Later this month a coffee table book titled Glow In The Dark penned by Kanye with photography by Nabil Elderkin will drop. To be honest I totally want this. I am very upset that I didn't get to go to The Glow In The Dark Tour. It might have been the best Kanye concert ever. I mean his tour for this year and latest album was just canceled and the other artist was Lady Gaga(not worth my money). The book documents Kanye’s “Glow In The Dark” Tour and gives readers a fascinating look into the production of the tour and also a peek into Kanye’s life both on stage and off. The book comes with a CD of unreleased instrumentals from the show and an interview with the show’s collaborator, Spike Jonze. Amazon is taking pre-orders as we speak and its expected to ship later this month.

Soulja Boy Arrested In Henry County!
Mug Shot
This is soooo funny. I am so glad I don't live In Henry County anymore. I really don't know why Soulja Boy would chose to live there.
A well-known musician is one of two individuals facing criminal charges in Henry County, after incidents apparently related to a video-shoot in the area led to their arrests.
Deandre Cortez Way, of McDonough, also known as Soulja Boy Tell Em, or Soulja Boy, is charged with one count of obstruction of an officer.
Another man, 18-year-old Latice Wayne Grier, of Rockville, N.Y., is charged with forgery in the second degree, in connection with the case.

Sperry Top-Sider Spring/Summer 2010
"THEY WON'T LET ME IN CAUSE IM NOT WEARING BOAT SHOES OR CROAKIES!"-ME When they wouldn't let me into a frat bar in dt athens.
I normally don't like the fact that everyone rocks boating shoes and its usually a sign that you are in a frat or a wannabe dude bro...No one is "on a boat" in the middle of GA! However these are some fresh shoes from Sperry! I know summer is already behind us but here is the preview for the upcoming spring/summer 2010 collection. The Bahama Chukka features all great materials and colorways for summer- a tanned canvas on a Bahama Chukka has the kicks masquerading around as a boot, and the Bahama Chukka colorway in two types of denim- a distressed one in lighter wash paired over darker indigo on crisp white soles. Its not even winter yet and I am fully ready for it too be summer again! Maybe get a pair of the tan canvas...
Song of the year: "Life Is Better" Q-Tip feat Norah Jones
This is one of my favorite songs of the past year. I think that it is one of the best hip-hop duets that i've ever heard if not the best...It came fresh off of Q-Tip's second album The renaissance and on first listen I knew it was my favorite...an amazing song. The video is pretty fresh. It seems simple but I like the effects.
Life’s filled with pain
But now the clouds come in
Leaves fall away
Hip Hop is playing again
Is playing tunes
No banging for you
Don’t stop this feel I feel
I just want to know that all day I feel the breeze
I’m so into your rich history
Tell me stories that take me away
Come take me (Ohhh, ohhhh)
Come take me with you
Life is, better, now that, now that I found you
But now the clouds come in
Leaves fall away
Hip Hop is playing again
Is playing tunes
No banging for you
Don’t stop this feel I feel
I just want to know that all day I feel the breeze
I’m so into your rich history
Tell me stories that take me away
Come take me (Ohhh, ohhhh)
Come take me with you
Life is, better, now that, now that I found you

Matisyahu Live @ Guest Apt.
Pretty cool little live striped down acoustic set. Matisyahu is a true performer. If you have yet to see him live I suggest checking it out. He made his name off of a live album and he has the chops and talent to be an amazing live performer. We all know if you can't bring it live then its hard to stay alive. I just wish he was coming to ATL for his fall tour, I might just have to drive to one of the N.C. or S.C. shows...OneLove
The Roots: "How I Got Over" Music Video
The Roots have released a video for their new single, “How I Got Over” off their next album which is also titled, How I Got Over. This will mark the eighth studio album from the Philly based Hip-Hop group and the group plans on dropping it sometime in February of 2010. I am stoked for some new music! The video was shot by director BBGUN(which you can tell from the chalk title at the begging...very cool). I was soo bummed I missed The Roots with Common this year in ATL. I remember last year they came in October on back to back nights! It was unbelievable, some of the best concerts i've been too!
