San Francisco is a favorite destination of LRG for creative inspiration and serves as the backdrop for the brand’s Fall 2011 season photoshoot. This year LRG featured music artists Mayer Hawthorne and Bilal. Also making appearances are LRG snow team rider Chris Grenier and skate team riders Tom Asta, Felipe Gustavo, Karl Watson and Jackson Curtin. Look for Fall 2011 in stores soon.

Pass the Bucket with Tony Alva

Considered to be one of the the most influential skateboarders of all time, Tony Alva, an original Z-Boy, hit rock bottom 4 years ago battling drug addiction and alcoholism. There, at his lowest point, his reliance on successes and ego came into perspective for the first time. Tony’s fight for sobriety and truth has recently lead him to a new perspective on life and direction moving forward. Dedicated to giving back, Tony now sees passing the bucket as the only way out. Vans presents Pass the Bucket with Tony Alva, directed and edited by Eliot Rausch.
Enjoy!  This is a very powerful piece and I really liked his perspective on life and what it is all about. If you can put a smile on someone else's face by doing something positive in their life, than you have succeed at what life is all about.  The last shot when it goes from his eyes to the title is a sick edit.

Nike SB "Around The World"

Nike SB does a great job with their new video Around The World. The work is an collection of highlights taken from footage captured in 2010 on several different tours. Starring Stefan, Grant, Wieger, Lewis, Daniel, Youness Amrani and Chet Childress.  There are some really cool time lapse and stop motion shots in the video, my favorite  is of the ATL skyline near the very beginning.

The official commercial includes casting by the riders themselves and it cleverly shows the sneakers getting X-rayed to bring attention to the features of the sneakers. The video also show cases each riders’ personalities and characters as to add depth to the riders themselves as more than skateboarders. Zoom FP is the lightest sneaker in the SB range and is equipped with the Zoom Air technology, one-piece inner booty construction, flexible and grippy herring bone sole and seamless uppers.

Nike SB – Zoom Paul Rodriguez (P-Rod) 4 Commercial Featuring NAS

Paul Rodriguez unveils the latest incarnation to his signature sneaker franchise, the Zoom Paul Rodriguez 4. In assisting Nike SB and P-Rod ushering this new addition, a series of short films were made in enunciate the importance of it, including a poetic narration by hip-hop star NAS.  This is a pretty amazing commercial I love NAS and Nike so it goes very well together.  Well I was in Cali I went to P Rod's store and it was a really cool spot and everyone there were nice, good people.

US OPEN of SURFING

Yesterday I went to the US Open of Surfing at the world famous Huntington Pier and let me just say I felt like a kid in a candy store. The event was sponsored by Nike 6.o, Hurley, and Converse (all companies owned by Nike, and all bad ass companies). I walked away with some free swag and got to watch some amazing surfing. 6.o had a booth set up with all the new woman's 6.0 line that is about to come out. I think its really cool that they are finally coming out with a woman's line(especially after seeing all the woman surfers competing yesterday, DAMN). Converse also had all its new skate line there and let me say there are some really fresh converse coming soon. All and all I was just amazed at the size of the event and how much time and money had to go into making it all possible. It would be really cool to set up a camera and do a time lapse of the entire process from setting up, to the actual event, to taking it all down. I want to work promotions for Nike, maybe try for that internship again next summer!

Nike SB June 2010 Apparel Release

Nike SB’s apparel release for June is all about the t-shirts, but mind you, it isn’t your run-of-the-mill graphic tee collection, as Nike SB had enlisted the help of skateboarder/artist extraordinare, Lance Mountain, to pen a few sketches for the collection of skating scenarios. There is also a humorous photographic tee featuring an amigo in a poncho.

Nike SB and Todd Jordan pay their tributes to those who have been in the game since the very beginning with a new lookbook photography collection for its Summer 2010 apparel. The “Support Your Local” Loobook features the crew from Zeropolis Skateshop in Lille, France, and the folks of Ideal Skate Supply from Birmingham, UK. The folks from Zeropolis and Ideal Skate Supply are decked out in Nike SB Summer 2010 apparel, and pulls them off with an effortless ease only a seasoned skater with nothing but love for the game can. The images were shot by Todd Jordan himself, so check out the lookbook, and remember to support your local folks who have been there supporting you.
