Song of the Day Mayer Hawthorne "Dreaming"
For the always lighthearted Mayer Hawthorne and his latest set of visuals, the LA-based musician enlists the services of animatronic band The Rock-afire Explosion to highlight the music video. The aesthetics feature Hawthorne seemingly on a date with a pair of lovely ladies, as they enjoy their time at a pizza parlor. The robotic band provides for the feel-good musical backdrop, while towards the end of the segment, Hawthorne himself hops on stage to perform with his furry friends. “Dreaming” is featured on the multi-talented artist’s most recent EP How Do You Do.

An Inaccurate Look at the Making of a Native Fitzsimmons
In one of the more clever ad spots in recent memory, Native presents An Inaccurate Look at the Making of a Fitzsimmons, a Wes Anderson-esque imagining of what goes into shoe manufacturing. The result is a whimsical interpretation, where buried treasure is unearthed, bananas are found and mythical shoes are created. The Native team deserves a ton of credit for thinking outside of the box on this one. Check it out.

Mayer Hawthorne Plays His Own Halftime Show as Nickelback Alternative
Earlier this month, soul singer Mayer Hawthorne campaigned in the Rolling Stone studio to replace Nickelback as the halftime performer for the big Detroit Lions home game on Thanksgiving Day after many loyal Lions fans attempted to get the rockers kicked off the bill. Nickelback is keeping the gig after all, but that's not going to stop Hawthorne from celebrating Thanksgiving – and the Lions – in style on Thursday. In this clip, the Detroit native announces that he'll be broadcasting his own halftime show from his parents' house, with his own dad on bass. "I'm gonna play a short medley of favorites and some songs especially for Detroit," says Hawthorne. "The band will be all local musicians from Detroit. We'll be watching the game upstairs!"

God's Eye View(Film Montage)
This type of shot is commonly referred to as a "God's Eye View" angle. The camera lens is perpendicular to the subject without any POV reference, which gives the viewer an omniscient viewpoint of the character and the surrounding space. This video is incredible! There are some really great films in here!
The video is cut to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Down Boy" from the "Is Is" album.

Childish Gambino: Behind the Scenes of “Camp” (Video)
Hear some as-of-yet unheard material and see Donald direct some singers. Shouts out to Ludwig. Camp dropping November 15 on Glassnote. I can't wait for this album to drop. The video definitely gives me some hope for the album cause I wasn't really feeling Bonfire.
Jay-Z & Kanye West – N*ggas In Paris Live ATL
Last night was Cray! The Throne took ATL out to Paris three times last night, once twice and then as a third time as an encore and finale! Damn this was one of the most incredible shows I have ever been too! I just wish I was closer cause I was going HAM the whole show and I saw so many people just sitting down up front!

The Black Keys: GQ Music Issue 2011 The Survivors
Damn this piece made my love for The Black Keys get even stronger! Dan Auerbach is a BADASS!
GQ: A lot of the songs on Brothers were breakup tunes, and they seemed to be about Pat, who was going through some personal turmoil. Is that accurate?
Dan Auerbach: No, none of them were, actually. But "Next Girl" was our first song [off Brothers], and he had just gone through the worst breakup. He was, like, losing his mind and it just helped him get through it.
GQ: Did you ever read the piece his ex-wife wrote for Salon about their breakup?
Dan Auerbach: No.
GQ: You know the piece I'm talking about, though, right?
Dan Auerbach: She's written a couple pieces. I don't want to read anything she's got to say.
GQ: Did Pat read those things?
Dan Auerbach: I don't know. I hope not. She crushed that dude's soul. I hope he can stay away from her forever.

Opening Ceremony’s OCTV Presents: ‘Hobbyist’ by Twin Bike, Part 1 – Featuring Lake Bell
In part one of Hobbyist, Twin Bike takes a drive with actress, filmmaker and car enthusiast Lake Bell. In just over three minutes, Lake explains the importance of Trail Mix on road trips, “Tetris driving”, and the ups and downs of driving a 600-horsepower “beast” around the suburbs of Los Angeles. Bell’s adorable pup and roadside companion, Margaret, also makes a cameo. What a bad chick!
