Bonnaroo 2011 Line up

I don't know how I feel about the Bonnaroo Line up. When it comes to festivals I try to look at the headliners due to the fact that is where most of your money and time at night will be spent. That being said, there are some really good bands, definitely some similarities to Coachella. However, instead of Kanye West you get Eminem at Bonnaroo(not an even trade in my book). As well as you get Widespread Panic instead of Kings of Leon. I'm not the biggest fan of what The Kings have done on their last couple of albums, but I would much rather see them than Widespread!

Rock The Bells

The 7th annual Rock The Bells festival is just over a month away and it looks amazing this year! RTB will be making stops in Cali (L.A. & San Fran), NY, and D.C. and the lineup includes Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Lauryn Hill, Rakim, Krs-One, Slick Rick, DJ Premier, and many more. I really want to go I wish they were coming to ATL and I am not really sure why they aren't coming to the A! If anyone was interested in going to the NYC or D.C. I'd totally be down!

They Just Don't Make Em Like They Us To...

This weekend is the 6th Annual Robert Osborne Classic Film Festival here in Athens. I volunteered at the festival last night when they were showing Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid...a great movie. The experience of watching these classic movies the way they were suppose to be seen in all their Cinema Scope glory is soooo amazing! Last night I got to watch the movie from the top balcony it was incredible to say the least. I realized they really don't make movies like they use to. Maybe because most actors aren't badasses like these two guys. Robert Redford is a total OG with impeccable style and outlook on life and celebrity. He has dedicated his life to the preservation of nature and all its wonders! A couple years ago I did a speech about him and I learned lot about all the work he has done to help our planet. Total G!

Possiable Bonnaroo Lineup 2010

"It's that time of the year again, when all my Bonnaroo brethren are anxiously awaiting for the official lineup to be announced. The Roo crew usually release the lineup the first week of February, so it's only natural that the rumors and leaky lineups pick up super steam the week or two before the real deal drops. Is the below list completely accurate? I'm not sure. That all depends on how well you trust "hackers", "message board gurus", and the "hip insiders". I can say, from multiple Bonnaroo experiences, it's really rare for a band to be signed up for the festival in back-to-back years.. making this particular lineup somewhat believable."

Austin City Limits 09 Please!

I was informed today by my good friend Azon that Austin City Limits looks pretty damn badass this year. So I thought i'd check it out for myself and you know what? It looks pretty damn badass.

The only thing that sucks is that they are out of three day passes so you have to buy each day singly and they are $85 a day so that equals $255 if you go to all the days, which I believe we are talking about doing. If you are interested in going to the festival please let me know because the more the merry and probably the cheaper things will cost all of us in the long run. It takes place the weekend of October 2-4 and would be soooooo much fun! Check out the lineup and let me know what you think. I am being serious when I say we are considering going to this!

Beastie Boys feat The Roots "So What'cha Want"

So two years ago I saw The Roots play and then The Beastie Boys follow them at Langerado, but them playing together is dope.  I wish Blackthought would've got on the song then it would've been unbelievable!

Taking Of Woodstock

In Theaters: June 5, 2009
Check out the trailer HERE.
Taking Woodstock is the new film from Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee - and it’s a trip! Based on the memoirs of Elliot Tiber, the comedy stars Demetri Martin as Elliot, who inadvertently played a role in making 1969’s Woodstock Music and Arts Festival into the famed happening it was. Featuring a standout ensemble cast, and songs from a score of ’60s musical icons including The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, and Country Joe and the Fish - plus a new recording of “Freedom” from Richie Havens - Taking Woodstock is a joyous voyage to a moment in time when everything seemed possible. Working as an interior designer in Greenwich Village, Elliot feels empowered by the gay rights movement. But he is also still staked to the family business - a dumpy Catskills motel called the El Monaco that is being run into the ground by his overbearing parents, Jake and Sonia Teichberg (Henry Goodman and Imelda Staunton). In the summer of 1969, Elliot has to move back upstate to the El Monaco in order to help save the motel from being taken over by the bank. Upon hearing that a planned music and arts festival has lost its permit from the neighboring town of Wallkill, NY, Elliot calls producer Michael Lang (Jonathan Groff) at Woodstock Ventures to offer his family’s motel to the promoters and generate some much-needed business. Elliot also introduces Lang to his neighbor Max Yasgur (Eugene Levy), who operates a 600-acre dairy farm down the road. Soon the Woodstock staff is moving into the El Monaco - and half a million people are on their way to Yasgur’s farm for “3 days of Peace & Music in White Lake.” With a little help from his friends, including theater troupe leader Devon (Dan Fogler), recently returned Vietnam veteran Billy (Emile Hirsch), and cross-dressing ex-Marine Vilma (Liev Schreiber) - and with a little opposition from townspeople, including Billy’s brother Dan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) - Elliot finds himself swept up in a generation-defining experience that would change his life - and popular culture - forever.

So in a perfect world i'd have lots of money and time and be able to jet set all over and do as I please. And in this perfect world I would be in California this weekend right now as we speak at the COACHELLA MUSIC FESTIVAL!  So I thought i'd have a lil fun and do my weekend schedule of what bands i'd see on each day.
Day 1: If stage location and everything is possible.

Move back to the Coachella Stage to get a good spot for Paul Mccartney 10:00.

If E! came go see Joss Stone at the Coachelle Stage 2:40-3:30.
Eat a little food look around at the shops and what not.
Check out a lil of Dr. Dog at Mojave 4:05-4:35.

Thievery Corporation 7:40-8:30
M.I.A 8:55-9:45

Start the day off at The Coachella Stage and The Knux 1:35-2:20
Eat some food chill come back to The Coachella Stae for a good spot.

Maybe go back to the campsite if I had time just find others in the group and chill.
Go to the Outdoor Theatre get a good spot for PUBLIC ENEMY 9:00-10:10
After that see if the Cure is still playing at the Coachella Stage.
Or catch the end of Groove Armada DJ set if I had time to get to Sahara.
Then Just look back at my badass weekend and Smile...

Kanye SxSW

It's good to see that you cut your hair Kanye...I am not trying to hate on Kanye I think if most people look at this blog they know that I am a huge Kanye fan and have mad respect for the things he does...but yo that hair cut was just starting to look like a mullet.  Its getting hot outside again nice to see that clean cut shaved look my friend...oh and check out the fresh AIR YEEZY'S!!!
One Love...

Common SxSW

Yo one of the best parts of the G.O.O.D Music performance at SxSW Common "The Light" shits insane...Common's Freestyle is off the chain and Ms On & On Badu has a sick ATLiens reference at the start of hers, they cut Kanyes off cause it was already a written verse...you got to work on those chops again man.
