Song of the Day "Hundred Million" The Whigs

It's funny that The Whigs are a quote unquote "Athens band" and I never really listened to them until I saw them live in Los Angeles at the world famous Troubadour.  It was one of the first times that I can remember hearing a band live before their studio stuff and liking them a lot.  Their drummer especially killed it.  Anyways this song definitely stood out to me that night and for some reason while I was sitting in my 9:00 AM class it popped into my head.  Thankfully I had it on my iPhone!

I downloaded this song about a month or so ago its finally starting to be released wide due to the fact that Miss Badu's album drops on Tuesday! I have missed her music for awhile now its real soulful and funky. I can relate to this song right now as well which is always good when listening to new music. Plus ?uestlove did the drums so you know its legit!

BLAKROC

This project right here has me excited about new music again! BLAKROC is a combination of The Black Keys which I had heard of but never listened to until E introduced me to them and now I am a huge fan, and some of the most intelligent and profound hip hop artist in the game today like Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA, and RAEKWON. Their first album dropped on Black Friday(how novel) and its dope a must listen for sure. I can't wait for more music from these cats...If they tour its going to be insane!

On a side note My boy T-Ray put me on to this video a couple of days ago. This just so happens to be the show Travis and DJ AM were playing before their plane crash. At the five minute point you get some good old 311 mixed by the late great DJ AM.

This is a sick example of some sampleING! I want one of these Maschine sample pads SOOO bad so I can do music. They run around $499 DAMN! I got TOO many hobbies that I want to pursue.

Those Beats Are SO FRESH!

This is dope. I don't know if the heads actually made all the sounds them self, but if so these guys are good. It is right up my alley if you know me you know I love the beatboxing and mixing of music.
