Last month, pioneering Hip-Hop documentarian Martha Cooper debuted her newest publication Name Tagging at the OBEY Pop-Up Shop. Covering the prevalent notion of tagging with stickers once used primarily in the corporate environment, we took the opportunity to visit with Martha Cooper regarding her book, her contributions to graffiti and Hip-Hop and the importance of her getting involved early on as a photographer and the difficulty current photographers face. Name Tagging is available now through Mark Batty Publisher with a retail price of $12.95. It looks like a dope book and I think its a really good idea...Martha seems like a real nice lady...

Glow In The Dark Tour Coffee Table Book

Later this month a coffee table book titled Glow In The Dark penned by Kanye with photography by Nabil Elderkin will drop. To be honest I totally want this. I am very upset that I didn't get to go to The Glow In The Dark Tour. It might have been the best Kanye concert ever. I mean his tour for this year and latest album was just canceled and the other artist was Lady Gaga(not worth my money). The book documents Kanye’s “Glow In The Dark” Tour and gives readers a fascinating look into the production of the tour and also a peek into Kanye’s life both on stage and off. The book comes with a CD of unreleased instrumentals from the show and an interview with the show’s collaborator, Spike Jonze. Amazon is taking pre-orders as we speak and its expected to ship later this month.

Complex: Top 100 Movies of the 2000s

So Complex is back again in their Best of the 2000s series. The magazine has been ranking pop culture topics from sneakers to T-shirts to girls. Here is the movie list. They have already done sneakers and albums which you can check out at the link above and below. I'd say its fair I am sure they missed a bunch of good movies. The top 2 are kind of odd I don't think i'd pick either of them for the top two but hey that might just be me. Check out the list HERE and see what you think.

Complex: 50 Best Nike Dunks Of All Time

In 1985, Nike released the original Dunk Hi sneaker to heavy-match with the uniforms of top-tier college basketball teams. Now, 24 years later, we’ve seen everyone from graffiti artists and super brands to cool-guy stores and rock bands put their spin on the iconic silhouette.
Complex Magazine has put together a master list of what they feel are the 50 Best Nike Dunks Of All Time—minus SBs ( which they are coming out with later). I don't know if I fully agree with this list by any means. There are some fly kicks and some pretty wack ones as well. Check it out HERE for yourself.

Song of the Day: Ahmad "Back In The Day"
So I bought a cd with this song on it when I was in 5th or 6th grade and had barley made it through all the years the song did. Now I've gone pretty far into the years of my life. I know I am only 21 about to be 22 but life seems like its flying by to me. The other nite when I went to the gym there was a high school graduation at KSU and it made me feel old. I can still remember that nite and being so excited to be done with High School and on my way ready to party that nite. And now it's three years later crazy.
Listen to the song and get the message.
Back in the days when I was young
I am not kid anymore,
but some days and sit and wish I was a kid again

Scar Tissue That I Wish You Saw.
This is an amazing book I suggest it whether you are a fan of RHCP or not. It will make you a bigger fan or even turn you into one. The first sentence alone will make you want to keep reading.

In Scar Tissue Anthony Kiedis, the charismatic and highly articulate front man of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, recounts his remarkable life story, and the history of the band itself. He tells of his childhood living in LA with his unconventional father; an early life spent hobnobbing with celebrities and becoming a child film actor; setting up the band with his school friend Flea in the early 80s; discovering a love of live performance and songwriting; and the years spent struggling with a drug addiction that left him a homeless multi-millionaire living on speedball mixtures of heroin and cocaine. Scar Tissue far transcends the typical rock biography, because Anthony Kiedis is anything but a typical rock star. The result is a surprisingly honest and moving account of a man who almost destroyed himself, and the band that helped him rebuild his life.

The Dog Fighter
The Dog Fighter
by Marc Bojanowski

In this remarkable debut novel set in 1940s Mexico, Marc Bojanowski has crafted a work of startling originality — a poetic, mesmerizing tale of loyalty, violence, love, and redemption.
Written in the searing voice of its unnamed narrator, this is the story of a young man drifting through the badlands of California and Mexico after the death of his mother. He eventually settles in Canción, a sleepy Baja city on the verge of transformation. Lured by money and fame, he enters into an underground world where men fight against trained dogs before a raucous crowd of the town's elite businessmen and those who work for them. With an uncommon display of strength, skill, and sheer fearlessness, he becomes an overnight success.
Before long he catches the eye of a powerful businessman, whose grand vision is to turn Canción into a lucrative resort destination. But when the dog fighter finds friendship with a revolutionary old poet and is drawn toward a mysterious young woman, he becomes ensnared in an intricate web of promise and deceit. Caught between the ways of his past and the dreams of his future, he is forced to make a devastating choice that ignites a mixture of jealousy, greed, lust, and betrayal, culminating in a fight both for his life and the fate of the city.
Haunting, lyrical, imaginative, and immensely powerful, The Dog Fighter is a stunning novel of beauty and brutality that announces the arrival of an extraordinary new talent in American fiction.
