Black Thought tells XXL that the new album will be called How I Got Over, a celebratory album which will reflect the story of triumph that is The Roots. The title is a direct reference to the gospel song by Mahalia Jackson that shares the same name, and was the initial inspiration for the record. Yo so recently i've have noticed more and more people rocking Converse around me.  I have been rockin chucks for years now and so has my girl E and my boy Jimbo.  Two of my friends to remain nameless have just bought their first pair.  They are timeless shoes and in my opinion can be wore anywhere at anytime...very dress casual.

Thoughts of the Day: April 6, 2009

So my first thought of the day is wow it is sooo cold and windy outside I didn't know I lived in the windy city.  Global warming is getting it done.  My second thought is man I need to get my shit done.  Next year will be my fourth year in college and technically I am not a senior yet(not the end of the world or anything).  I will not have 90 hours making me an official senior until the end of fall 09 semester(if I take 15 hours).  My third thought is today I had fall registration which made me think of not being a senior and all of that.  Registration is stupid I am taking a class that is the prequ for other classes right now so I can't sign up for the other class until the end of the semester...why don't they just have registration after the semester is over. It would make a lot more sense to me...because with the way they do it now those classes are going to be full by the time the semester is over with.  But hopefully it really doesn't matter Next year I am trying to go to UGA and out of Kennesaw!  It's sad to think about leaving a place that I have spent the past three years and have made lots of friends and a home.  But I feel like its time to move on.  But damn I am def going to lose even more of my hours in the transfer fo sho.  .

Song of the Day: Doris Day & Bing Crosby "Baby it' Cold Outside"

So it's April and its in the 40's ish is crazy.  Can't it just be nice weather it's either raining or cold as fuck.  I guess thats just global warming for ya.

Air Yeezy Bobby Fresh T

This is a pretty fly T-shirt...too bad it is just like the Air Yeezy's when it comes to cost $35 for a T! I think not...

The release of the Air Yeezy, Kanye West’s first signature Nike sneaker created a buzz ever since rumors flew around the internet, but time has finally come for the first colorway to release and came yesterday. With most big releases, Bobby Fresh has created a t-shirt in honor of the sneaker entitled the “Big Top Yeezy Tee” in reference to the Pee Wee Herman like suit Kanye has worn. The name of the shirt comes from the film Big Top Pee Wee. The shirt is made up of Kanye West flying in his suit while rocking the Air Yeezy on a white or black tee. The shirt is now availble at Bobby Fresh.

Man I wish I was  this dude right place right time...

It’s official, Young Jeezy definitely puts on for his city. Today Mr. 17.5 gave away a free pair of the highly hyped Air Yeezy’s to a lucky camper in Atlanta. Big ups to ATL’s own Young Jeezy for showing love in a major way. Word is, Air Jeezy’s coming soon! That was just a joke before the rumors start, but check out the video to watch Jeezy give away Air Yeezy’s.

Air Yeezy Release Tomorrow

So Tomorrow is a very sad day the first colorway Zen Grey Nike Air Yeezy is dropping and there is no way for me to get my hands on them.  I don't think they are dropping at a store in GA first off and second I do not have $215 or a Nike discount anymore.  Very depressing very very depressing!

I guess when it comes down to it they are just shoes so no big deal, but they are fuckin sick ass kicks.  Plus they are Kanye's so I mean you know they are fresh to death.  I've entered into a free contest to win some along with more then 2,000 people "so your sayin there's a chance?!"  If I see anyone wearing them in real life I am going to have to say something to them...

Lil Wayne Goes Rock On The Cover of Rolling Stone

Lil Wayne covers the April 2009 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, on stands this week. The rapper speaks on venturing into the Rock genre for his newest album. Here is a snippet:

“The rock shit just comes from what my life is now,” Wayne, 26, says. “I’ve grown into this person.” He released his first album, 1999’s Tha Block Is Hot, when he was only 17, and built his name on being the busiest rapper in the game, dropping a relentless stream of mixtapes and cameos. But aside from plucking at electric guitars onstage and in videos, Weezy never let on that his rap career could take such a significant detour. Describing a wild night when he woke up in bed with three or four women he couldn’t name, Wayne reveals he had an epiphany. “I just got — I’m not going to say ’so good’ at what I was doing, but it became such a regularity for me that I got tired of it. And then I said, ‘You know what? I’m not going to rap on this one.

Gap Fall 09 RTW in London

According to Gap’s Patrick Robinson, Gap’s Fall 09 RTW collection, recently unveiled in London, is “about people walking into the store and eyeing things they think might be three times the price of what they’d expect to see, but then finding out they’re a fourth of what they thought”.

With a new wallet-friendly mission and an international design perspective, Gap’s Fall 09 collection is also a global collection. London is just the first stop of the international road show where Gap takes its deep American roots and makes it globally relevant.
