Nike Sportswear 255 Studio NYC

On May 15th, Nike opened a first of its kind stand-alone conceptual retail destination. Located at 255 Elizabeth Street, 255 Studio is a culmination of sport and design brought together to offer an exclusive assortment of Nike Sportswear icons. Featuring a distinct apparel assortment and unique capabilities to personalize garments, each piece is crafted by a team of skilled Design Consultants. Offering specialized design tools and a variety of graphics, letters, and appliques, 255 Studio is a contemporary and classic platform for constructing ready-made and custom sportswear.

Nike Sportswear enlisted elite members of New York City’s creative community, No Mas, to bring a true celebration of sport and culture to the new 255 Studio. To celebrate baseball season, No Mas brought inspiration from their travel experiences in countries known for their die-hard loyalty to baseball and its traditions: Cuba, The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Japan. The result was “Hogar y Visitantes” (Home and Visitors) an installation and custom garment program that integrates cultural cues and iconic symbols unique to each nation, as well as, their relationship to the ultimate baseball mecca: New York City.

Consumers can select from a robust assortment of unique apparel and embellishment created exclusively within 255 Studio, or can customize the experience with a 255 Studio Design Consultant. These one-on-one appointments allow the consumer to choose from a menu of applications applied to Nike Sportswear icons. A consumer can also draw inspiration from the available graphics to embark on a bespoke experience resulting in a garment that is truly one of a kind and available immediately.

Immediately following the “Hogar y Visitantes” installation, No Mas will bring the excitement of the global celebration of football in time for the start of the games through a rich personalization design offering opening on June 1st. The store will be open both by appointment and walk-in, Tues-Fri 11am-7pm and Sat-Sun 12pm-7pm. Appointments can be made via appointments@nikeidcustomlab.com.

The State of things...

It has only been summer for a couple of weeks now and I feel like I haven't sat still very much. It is best for me to always be in a constant state of motion. I like having things to do and doing things you know. Recently I have gone to a Braves game, moved all my stuff to my place I am living next year, i've gone shopping for summer threads for Cali, went to temple with my mom, and recently I went to KSAW to chill with the FAMILIA. While in KSAW I went and ate at El Nopalito with my homegirl Haley. El Nop is amazing family owned and ran from the Grandfather to the grandson and the service and food are above and beyond! I also finally got to see Iron Man 2 last night and it was dope!

Anyways...I got some really nice new threads for CALI. Day one of shopping I went to Lenox and got a new fedora with a small brim, a pair of khaki colored pants that feel like light weight jeans, two pairs of cheap sunglasses(because I lost my Nike's Kayaking) one pair looks like wayfarers and one pair like 70's aviators, a new Braves 59/50 to rep my city, a Nike ATL T-shirt to rep my city, and probably my favorite purchase these Generic Surplus Chukkas. I have been wanting a pair of chukkas for awhile and these were on sale and dope. They work well with both pants and shorts so they are great for summertime. The next day of shopping was at the J. Crew outlet after I went and visited my people at Nike. There I copped a skinny black tie, a couple of button up shirts, a pair of grey shorts, a striped v-neck and the new Jaspe Jersey v-neck. Just new clothes goofin'...trying to look fresh in Cali ya dig...

Braves Game: Bottom of the 9th Win!

A Dog A...

The past couple of weeks i've been chilling over at my homeboy JMeg's house which means I get to chill with his two Boxer pups! JMeg's family has always had Boxers and I have grown quite fond of the breed because of it. They are such great dogs. Mac and Kaia are really pretty their brindle coloring is BEAutiful almost like little tigers. I want a dog so bad I can't wait till I have the time and money to get one!

Song of the day "My Generation" by Nas & Damian Marley feat. Joss Stone & Lil Wayne

This past Tuesday we were blessed with some great new music. Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek second album dropped as well as Nas & Damian Marley's Distant Relatives. This right here is a deep cut off of Distant Relatives and I love it. I mean any song with a children's choir doing the chorus has got to be dope you know. Joss Stone does a good job in the background as well. I am not really sure how I feel about Lil Wayne being on the track. He is really the only mainstream artist to have a feat on the entire album and I think I could've done without...

The Roots: How I Got Over Album Artwork

The Roots' 11th studio album will be hitting shelves on June 22nd and here is the album artwork. I am so excited for the next couple of months of new music. Tomorrow Talib and Hi-Tek as Reflections Eternal album and Nas and Damian Marley's albums drop!

NIke: Everything Is Practice

“Everything is Practice” is a short film from Nike that follows Spike Lee being an assistant coach for his sons soccer league at the Sara D. Roosevelt Park field in Chinatown, New York. Directed by Jake Sumner. Photography by Nabil Elderkin. I really like some of the things that Spike has to say especially about being a father. I hope that one day if I am lucky enough to be a father that I am there for my kids and teach them about life...

The Losers: Review

“The Losers” is based after the comic book series with the same name, it centers around the members of an elite Special Forces unit sent to the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. But the team—Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar—soon find that they have become the target of a deadly double cross, instigated from the inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Making good use of the fact that they are now presumed dead, the group goes deeply undercover in a dangerous plot to clear their names and even the score with Max. They are joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda, who is more than capable of scoring a few points of her own. Working together, when they’re not arguing amongst themselves, they have to stay one step ahead of the globetrotting Max—a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high—tech global war for his own benefit. If they can take down Max and save the world at the same time, it’ll be a win win for the team now known as The Losers. I watched it today and it was dope. Action packed and just a thrill ride from the beginning to the end. The dialogue was very well written lots of funny jokes and sarcasm. I watched an episode of Entourage the other day with Jason Patrick in it where he plays himself as a crazy method actor. In the Losers he plays the villain and does a really great job. I'd suggest this movie to anyone who likes a good summer action movie with some comic book feel to it...

Nike Sportswear by Mister Cartoon True Colors USA Collection

Nike Sportswear teams up with Mister Cartoon to bring us the True Colors USA Collection. This Dunk Hi AC features a Medium Grey canvas upper that is accented with a White leather Swoosh and White outsole. Mister Cartoon adds his touch of magic with a “Nike USA” graphic on the tongue of the shoe as well as a graphic on the insole and a sleek vulcanized outsole, which I feel like makes the shoe what it is. A Dunk with this type of bottom just looks and feels so much lighter than the classic dunk bottom. A shoe for the summer season for sure. If I had money they'd get got.

Mothers Day Photos

Here are some more pictures from mothers day off my iPhone. Me and my dad also took a bunch of pictures with his Nikon that ill get up at some point i'm sure. All in all it was a really fun day in ATL with a bunch of walking and good food. We ended up doing a little picnic in piedmont park I believe they have almost finished all the construction that they've been doing in the park and its extremely nice! Then we checked out the ATL botanical gardens to do the new tip-toe through the treetops which was not as cool as it sounds. After that we went to Fox's BBQ in Decatur and to say the least I felt like I gained 5 pounds after dinner we got soooo much food!
