Still Life & Marc Jacobs - Straw Hat Collection

New York City’s milliner, Still Life, is partnering up with Marc Jacobs this season to launch a collection of straw hats just in time for summer. Residing in the heart of the Lower East Side, Still Life is one of the few milliners around that provides handcrafted hats that are fitted to perfection for each customer by an on site seamstress. Still Life hats are produced locally in its own millinery factory in Brooklyn, thus exerting complete control over each hat from sketch to finish.

The collection of collaborative straw hats with Marc Jacobs are handmade entirely in New York City from concept to the finishing trim, aside from the materials. Some of the styles in the collection include the Parri Buntle with South American Straw, the classic Panama Straw which gets a Marc Jacobs makeover with bright hand-dyed colors, and also the Rice Straw which features a special braid and shape. These hats will only be available at Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs stores next week, retailing for $225  I wish I had the money and time to go to NY get one of these bad boys fitted for my head.  I just tried on my straw fedora I got last summer and it has been played out granted its been all over the world but it's lost its shape and doesn't look fresh anymore.  Time for a new one...
